The ratio is bad for SAMs who target only Asian women. Many Asian women who are in their late 20′s or early 30′s are married, dating white, or dating Asian. You see, there are so many more single Asian men in Seattle than single Asian women. And since many Asian men don’t date outside of their own race and many Asian women do date outside, the ratio isn’t exactly 50:50. Plus, many SAMs are picky. This is trouble for SAMs.
This is true life yo. Example: There are 3-5 SAMs interested in the same Asian chick. What if she doesn’t like any of them? See how desperate these times are for SAMs? They have to compete for one single girl. She’ll probably end up dating a white guy. It’s survival of the fittest for SAMs. And only the alpha male will prevail. And unfortunately, that alpha male is a big black man name Tyrone. The simple truth is this: There is a glut of SAMs out there. This is very troublesome. What are they going to do? Who are they going to end up with? It only gets harder and harder as SAMs get older. Unless SAM has millions or good looking, it’s a tough road. I don’t want to sound negative but I want to be frank about this. There is a shortage of viable single Asian women at SAMs disposal especially in Seattle. What do SAMs have? Can SAMs really find a nice girl on match.com? I think it’s time for SAMs to go abroad and bring a chick from their mother country to the states. SAMs! Get out your passports and wave them in the air.

I definitely agree that the odds are against SAMs. It all goes back to SAMs who have to marry a girl from the homeland because it fulfills their sense of identity. Maybe they think America is a hostile place far from their natural habitat. The extreme version of this behavior is the guy who only likes the woman who’s authentic: she has to be from Asia because otherwise she wouldn’t be a walking symbol of THE GUY’S identity. Asian American women are too Americanized. They are too open-minded and independent. Scary huh?
In the end, SAMs screw themselves with their sentimental fantasy of the homeland. They are far from the womb so they live their lives chasing comforting symbols of how they think things used to be. If SAMs can overcome this ongoing identity crisis, they will be better off.
To me, someone who complains about “Not enough Asian chicks” is effectively saying “I can’t stop pursuing my chronic identity crisis long enough to notice that there are plenty of great women around me.” SAMS better check themselves.
We are not trying to give a bleak message. We are not saying ‘there are no girls left’. What we are saying is that SAMs must feel a sense of urgency if they really want to find someone. SAMs must realize that they are competing with all men, and in order to get what they need, they have to step it up by developing some skills.
Personally, I like Asian girls, and I’m happy with mine. We have a lot in common, and we understand each other on a personal level and cultural level. Everything fits in to place. I personally would have trouble dating an American girl seriously for that reason I think. But that’s just me.
And, who are these Asian boys wearing makeup??? Are they a Korean pop group? Japanese?
I see no threat from big black Tyrone. I don’t know where you are from, but very, very few Asian women date or marry black men. Most Asian women want someone with a good career, is responsible, and smart. The only place I see black/Asian are in TV and movies. Most Asian females prefer Asian males and next on the list is white males.
@Joe – Black men dating Asian women is a big threat but it is becoming more and more so, little by little. It’s true you don’t see many Asian women with Black guys but I do see it from time to time. But it is rare. But I do disagree when you say “Most Asian females prefer Asian males and next is white…” – I see, at least where I live, almost half and half – I see just as many white guys with Asian women as Asian men with Asian women. Sometimes, even more…at least where I reside.
