Many SAMs are intimidated by white women. They don’t know how to talk to them. They don’t know how to schmooze with them or pick up on them. I don’t know what it is. I know that for me, I just don’t click with them. I don’t get the same type of responses from them. They don’t understand me. They don’t laugh at my stupid jokes. And they think I smell like garlic.
SAMs are nervous, anxious, and shy around white chicks. And if the white chick is beautiful, SAMs get in a fetal position or hide behind other SAMs. SAMs brag and hoot and holler about how hot that white chick is. But they rarely approach them and ask them out. SAMs talk smack about what he can do to her in the sack but rarely do SAMs actually have the opposite sex in their twin size bed. SAMs say, “I could date her but I choose not to because she’s not my type”. SAMs are scared of white women. SAMs are socially retarded when it comes to white women. SAMs are typically shorter than white women. Is that why? SAMs act like they are Gary Coleman when it comes to white women. SAMs are so passive in the white singles scene. Is this the reason why so many SAMs only want an Asian chick? Are they making excuses? Are they masking their inadequacies? Is there really a cultural barrier between white women and Asian men? Do Asian men feel more comfortable with an Asian chick because then she won’t make fun of his nano-size penis? Do white women not want to date Asian men because they want to be able to feel something during sex? Or is it the chronic? Chronic meaning garlic.

I don’t think that it’s a fear thing, I think it’s a cultural thing. I’d say about 80% of white girls tend to date white guys. It’s that simple. A lot of it has to do with upbringing but mainstream media generally doesn’t showcase a mixed couple unless it’s portrayed as a novelty or something “cool”. Look at any TV show…the mixed couple is usually in a unique situation or circumstance that white couples don’t deal with.
Yes, if an American girl didn\’t think about the issue, she will most likely unconsciously date white guys, since that is what she is used to seeing, and that is the subconscious way she\’s been programmed. But, if an Asian guy asked her out, then the issue would come up to the forefront, and in her conscious mind. \”Should I date this guy or not?\”, she will think. At that point, depending on the person, she will say no, or be curious and say yes. But, none of this will happen if the Asian guy doesn\’t ask this girl out, and she\’ll probably continue to date white guys simply because no Asian guys have asked her out.
And all this time, I thought it was the garlic odor coming out of my Asian pores.

I agree with fatgirl’s reply that its a cultural thing, but on another tangent. That tangent would be, coming from an asian background whether you are chinese, japanese or korean (which seem to be the traditional 3, no offense to other Asians) we’ve all had really strict upbringings.
And partly because of that I think we get along with Asian girls or choose to be with Asian girls because we have more in common with our upbringing. And its one of those things where you’ve had to experience it, like mothers making soup for their daughters for health or whatnot. Having to explain it to another ethnicity is a pain, and even if you’re dating a westernized Asian they can relate or are more open minded to the issue.
Perhaps thats just my stereotype. But like fatgirls reply perhaps on a subconscious level we are also programmed to date Asians because its the norm, like white girls dating white guys.
Times are changing and with globalization things are changing. But unfortunately its more that other ethnicities are getting “yellow fever” for our Asian woman, it was like the best kept secret or something.
Honestly the best thing I think SAMS can do is just to relax around any girl and talk, be funny — and stop letting your mother dress you. If you look the part, you feel the part, and you become the part. If you look like a sharp, you feel sharp and hopefully you become sharp. So go pick up some mags like GQ or go to some mens fashion mags, get some sense of style. Simplicity goes a long way these days, good pair of hemmed jeans, a nice v neck or button down shirt and you’re clean, plus fresh smelling.
I think people in general think SAMs are bookworms, and to some extent their right, but its just a part of ourselves — NOT everything we are. So if you’ve got the skills of study then study people, look at what chill guys are wearing and notice what the social girls do or expect. If you’re into games, then treat it like a strategy game — gather intel, prepare yourself, arm yourself with style and wit, and just go out and mingle.
Once you’re confident with breaking the ice with numerous girls hot or not, you’re comfortable, then up your challenge and thats the only way you’re gonna stand out and fight back against this stereotype.

blade-edge…good points. When you have shows like the OC touting the latest fashion craze, you have to recognize that’s the baseline on how you’re viewed/measured as a “cool” person. In otherwords, make an effort…stop wearing the same crap everyday.
We have to have a show like OC or 90210 but with a full Asian cast. But they have to be hip, cool, good looking, and dress well. This will create an Asian hearththrob. It’s the only way.
